JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Tuesday suspended three staff members and relieved the RAS official who was allegedly caught taking a bribe to issue the lease deeds.
The civic body also terminated the contract of the computer operator, Akhilesh Maurya. As per the orders, junior engineer Shayam Malu, assistant account officer Ram Toofan and assistant administrative officer Vijay Meena were suspended.
JDA relieved the deputy commissioner of zone – 4, Mamta Yadav and wrote to the department of personnel (DOP) for action against the officer. A senior official said, “A three-member committee has also been constituted to internally probe the matter. Also, staff members who are posted in any zone for more than one year will be transferred.”
To maintain transparency and develop a corruption free system, the JDA recently started an online process to issue lease deeds and carry out other land related works. However, the system has failed to provide benefits to the residents as staff members and officials allegedly delay the work to harass the applicants.
There are many others like him, who are being harassed after the staff members at JDA raised the objections. Sunita Saini, another applicant said, “I moved an application for subdivision four months ago. The staff members at JDA are raising several unnecessary objections.”
An official source said that on papers, the JDA till February 7 has disposed of 12,965 applications. But in reality, the scenario is totally opposite. He said that to gain brownie points, the officials and staff members claim that they have resolved the case.
