A man was killed and two other people were wounded in a drive-by Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side.

They were standing in the 7400 block of South Stewart Avenue at about 6:10 p.m. when a dark-colored SUV approached and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago police.

A 42-year-old man was shot in the ankle, calf and armpit while a 32-year-old man was shot in the side and foot, police said. They were both taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

The younger man was pronounced dead at the hospital later that night, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His identity has not been released.

A 43-year-old woman was hit in the leg and was taken to the same hospital in fair condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
