3 free agent centers Bulls should sign with their final roster spot

After losing in the Play-In Tournament this past season, the Chicago Bulls decided to strive for improvement instead of entering a rebuild. With that goal in mind, they brought back core pieces and signed new players in free agency. Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, and Ayo Dosunmu all returned, and the Bulls added Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig.

On top of that, Andre Drummond accepted his player option and will be backing up Vucevic again next year. But the Bulls still don’t have a ton of center depth. The only other big man on the roster outside of Vucevic and Drummond is rookie Adama Sanogo, who is on a two-way contract.

With that in mind, here are three centers the Bulls should look to sign in free agency with their final open roster spot.

3 free agent centers Bulls should sign with their final roster spot: Bismack Biyombo

Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

After a string of disappointing seasons, Bismack Biyombo emerged as a solid contributor with the Phoenix Suns over the past few seasons. His decent athleticism and long frame help his effectiveness on the defensive end and as a lob threat. He could play some solid backup minutes next to Drummond.

3 free agent centers Bulls should sign with their final roster spot: Frank Kaminsky

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

Despite not having played a ton in the past two seasons, Frank Kaminsky could be a decent third-string center option for Chicago. He’s a big body who can stretch the floor, which would help the Bulls’ three-point woes.

3 free agent centers Bulls should sign with their final roster spot: Wenyen Gabriel

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

At 6-foot-9, Wenyen Gabriel is a bit short for the center position, but he would definitely give the Bulls a different look. His quickness and defensive versatility would help them on that end, while his athleticism could be a useful commodity in the pick-n-roll. Plus, he’s always hustling on the glass, so he’d help the Bulls in that area, too.
