3 found dead of gunshot wounds in Texas home

FORT WORTH, Texas _ The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office was investigating after three people were found dead inside a home near Azle on Monday.

Two men and a woman had fatal gunshot wounds in a house near Eagle Mountain Lake, which is northwest of Fort Worth. Their bodies were found about 4:50 p.m.

A family member called Tarrant County authorities because they had not heard from those living in the house since Sunday night, said David McClelland, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office chief of staff.

Each person was shot one time, McClelland said at the scene at 10 p.m. Police cars and news vans lined the small, dark road in the rural neighborhood.

McClelland said the deaths were still under investigation and they are considering all possibilities, but they do not believe there is any danger to the community at this time.

"We're looking at all avenues and all leads at this point, but we don't think there is a danger," he said. "So we ask people to let us go ahead and work the evidence and see where it takes us and be calm and patient. If at any point we feel there is any danger or threat to the neighborhood or community, we will make that known."

Sheriff's deputies called crime scene investigators and Azle EMS, which pronounced the three people dead at 5:02 p.m. The Texas Rangers were also called to the scene Monday.

"It does make it unique that it was a triple homicide _ you normally don't find those in rural Tarrant County, or Tarrant County," McClelland said.
