3 firms involved in GST evasion, fake invoices busted in UP

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh GST team has busted three tax evading companies that generated fake invoices and committed tax evasion of Rs 57 crore on pretext of taking input tax credit.

According to officials of the state GST department, three Lucknow-based companies, named RC Infra Digital Solutions, Laddu Digital Pvt Ltd and Mumbai Film Institute, were involved in making fake invoices.

An official said that these companies had made fake invoices of about Rs 122 crore.

“These companies used to make fake invoices for companies within the state and outside. They prepared invoices for different business items, including building material, film equipment,” the officials added.

A GST official added that during the raid, the state GST department recovered a huge number of suspicious documents and electronic devices.

Commercial Tax Commissioner Ministhy S had ordered raids on these firms based on intel inputs.

The state GST team will also take the help of central agencies as these firms also used to make fake invoices for the companies in West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
