3 fashion set-approved ways to protect your hair from drizzle frizz

Ok, so it’s August, it’s cold, and it’s frizz-drizzling.

By frizz-drizzling I mean of course the irritating kind of drizzly rain that takes your glossy blow-out from hero to zero in minutes. But rather than cower indoors, why not take your cues from the street style set at last week’s Copenhagen Fashion Week, who were forced to navigate erratic rain-then-shine weather conditions much like we are having in London now.

Their solution? Not a kag-in-a-bag or a bashed up brolly, but rather some carefully considered headwear.

These are the three styles we saw dominating the streets of the Danish capital.

A silk headscarf

(Valentina Valdinoci for Imaxtree)

Silk scarves are a perennial and versatile fashion girl favourite. This season, the winning way to tie your silk square is as a head covering, with the ties draping down your back. Pair with leather, shirting and Seventies sunnies for a retro feel.

The haute bucket hat

Big, floppy bucket hats were spotted both on and off the runways at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Opt for oversized silhouettes, neck ties, and patent and leather fabrics for maximum impact.

A crochet hat

(Valentina Valdinoci for Imaxtree)

Crochet has been a major trend of #HotVaxSummer, and holey hats in particular have been influencer catnip, with everyone from Bella Hadid to Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter Ella Emhoff embracing the trend. Pair multicoloured woven bucket styles with everything from tie-dye tracksuits to serious suiting... it’s cool to be crafty.
