The Tennessee Titans’ dress rehearsal game will be a Sunday night matchup against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Titans have faced some powerhouse teams up to this point in the preseason, and that trend continues into Sunday night.
This is the preseason game where starters will play for an extended period of time, so it will be important to play smartly all-around to avoid injury.
Here are three defensive keys to victory for the Titans this weekend.
1. Communication.

Communication will be key in this matchup, as it is in every one.
If the Steelers catch a member of the Titans defensive squad out of position, it could prove costly. The Titans will need to continue to execute in this area, which is one the young linebackers have spent a lot of time on over the offseason.
2. Limit the big plays.

Tennessee’s run defense has been solid midway through the preseason.
But Pittsburgh boasts one of the better offensive lines in the NFL and a budding star at the running back position in James Connor.
The Steelers also have wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Washington who have absolutely dominated this preseason.
One area the Titans have struggled with throughout the preseason is pass defense. The old phrase “don’t get beat deep” will be key for the team, while filling the gaps in the run game as well.
3. Create turnovers.

The defense will need to come out aggressive without being reckless in this one, and consistently attack the football. Winning the turnover battle is important in every game, and Sunday will be no different as the Titans take on another stout opponent.
