It’s been well documented that the Jacksonville Jaguars need help on offense, which is why Day 2 of the NFL Combine was important in the eyes of their fans. Both the running backs and offensive linemen took the field in the process and put on an impressive display. Now that the results have been made official, here are three Day 2 Combine standouts the Jags should consider drafting come April:

Cam Akers, RB, Florida State
Cam Akers had himself a day when it comes to the performance drills. He registered a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash and 20 reps in the bench press, which somewhat validates the mix of speed and strength he’s showcased on film. Many also liked his interview skills at the combine.
During his presser, Akers said he met with the Jags, and now that he’s made a case to be a first-round pick, they definitely would be elated if he was available in round two. With the uncertainty surrounding Leonard Fournette and his fifth-year option, Akers would be a great addition to the Jags who maybe looking to move on.

Tristan Wirfs, OL, Iowa
Tristan Wirfs’ athleticism was well documented before the Combine but it was nice to see him confirm it anyway. He was able to set the record for offensive lineman in the vert jump (36.5-inches) and tied the record in the broad jump, registering a 10-foot-1. If that doesn’t scream explosive, I don’t know what does.
While he’s played offensive tackle in college, a lot of scouts project Wirfs to be a Pro Bowl caliber guard in the future. With A.J. Cann and Andrew Norwell not meeting expectations at guard, drafting Wirfs should definitely be on the table for Jacksonville as Pro Football Focus graded their offensive line poorly at the end of the year (No. 26).

A.J. Dillon, Boston College
At 6-foot-0, 247 pounds, A.J. Dillon tested well at the Combine, running a 4.53 in the 40-yard dash and putting up 23 reps on the bench press. He also registered a 41-inch vert jump and an 131-inch broad jump. As pointed out by our comrades at Chiefs Wire, those numbers are similar to the ones Derrick Henry put up when he was entering the draft.
While Dillon is similar to Fournette in some ways, the Jags could need a power back down the road if they don’t retain the fourth-year player. Dillon is a player who has the potential to succeed Fournette and is one that may require a third-round selection or later.
