It’s too bad that the Denver Broncos are playing this well with the postseason essentially out of reach. Of course, that’s one way to look at it. The other, more positive way to look at it, would be that the future includes some potentially great things.
Normally, we would talk about winners and losers for the Broncos after their game, but after this game, it’s pretty tough to find any “losers.” After all, the Broncos were up 38-3 at one point in this game against a team fresh off of a big win over the New England Patriots.
Instead, we’ll focus on the three big stars of the game, kind of like they do in the National Hockey League. There were plenty of players to choose from in this one.
First star: Drew Lock

This is the obvious place to start. Lock was phenomenal in his second career start, completing 22-of-27 passes and throwing for 309 yards and three touchdowns. To say he has Broncos Country excited would be a small understatement.
Would you believe that until Sunday, no rookie quarterback ever threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns in their first career road start? Lock made NFL history by doing just that.
Second star: Kareem Jackson

Jackson played a terrific game against his former team and that had to be a great feeling for the Denver defensive back.
In his first game against the Texans since signing with the Broncos during the offseason, Jackson racked up 11 tackles and an interception. He also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery, probably the biggest play of the game.
Jackson has been playing quite well of late but Sunday’s performance was by far his best with the Broncos thus far.
Third star: Jeremiah Attaochu

Attaochu has been an incredible surprise for the Broncos.
After being released by the Kansas City Chiefs just prior to the start of the season, Attaochu was out of the league until the Broncos came calling about one month later following the season-ending injury suffered by Bradley Chubb.
He’s been a great fit for Vic Fangio’s defense and on Sunday, he made some big plays.
Attaochu had two sacks of Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson and he also recovered the fumble that resulted in Jackson’s touchdown. After picking the ball up, Attaochu turned and handed it to Jackson, who then raced 70 yards the other way for the score, putting the Broncos up 14-0 and silencing the crowd.
