Netflix is constantly adding new TV shows and movies to its massive content library. While that means there's always something to choose from, it can also mean that staying on top of all the latest releases can feel like a Herculean task.
If your weekend plans involve little more than settling down on the sofa in front of the world's biggest streaming service, but you don't want to waste any time scrolling endlessly through categories, I've got your back.
After looking at what's new on Netflix this week, I've hand-picked just a couple of movies that have just joined the platform recently. You can find my Netflix weekend watchlist below.
3 new to Netflix movies to watch this weekend
'Black Phone 2'
Years after Finn (Mason Thames) escaped The Grabber (Ethan Hawke), the terrifying villain returned to terrify all of us late last year in "Black Phone 2." Here, The Grabber begins to menace Finn's younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), from beyond the grave. Gwen starts seeing visions of a winter camp, and convinces Finn to take her there in an effort to end their torment forever... and together, they confront the killer who has grown even more powerful in death.
Oh, and if you haven't seen the first one, don't worry: "The Black Phone" is also available to stream on Netflix, too, so you can watch the entire saga this weekend.

'Marty, Life Is Short'
If you'd prefer to watch something factual this weekend, and you're a big fan of Martin Short, then you'll want to add "Marty, Life Is Short" to your weekend Netflix watchlist.
This feature-length documentary was directed by Lawrence Kasdan, and is pitched by Netflix as the "definitive" documentary on the beloved comedian. Using archival footage, never-before-seen home movies and fresh, exclusive interviews with stars, "Marty, Life Is Short" looks back over the hit comedy performer's life.

'Remarkably Bright Creatures'
If you haven't yet got caught up on Netflix's recent adaptation of Shelby Van Pelt's bestselling novel "Remarkably Bright Creatures" (which dropped last Friday), I'd recommend giving it a shot, especially if you're looking to curl up in front of a cozy watch this weekend (you can read my "Remarkably Bright Creatures" review to see why).
The film revolves around lonely widow Tova (Sally Field), who forms an unlikely bond with a giant Pacific octopus called Marcellus at the aquarium where she works, and a young drifter called Cameron (Lewis Pullman). Together, they uncover a mystery in town that leads to a life-changing discovery.
