Here are three quick takeaways from the Bears-Redskins game:
Trey bien
One week after catching two passes for only five yards in his season debut, Bears tight end Trey Burton looked a lot more like his 2018 self, catching four passes for 20 yards and blocking ably. The Bears said this week they would build up Burton’s workload gradually as he returns from a groin injury.
Trevathan sack
Veteran inside linebacker Danny Trevathan pulled off the niftiest defensive move in a night full of them. About a minute into the second quarter, Trevathan walked toward the line of scrimmage after the snap and then stood straight up, as though he wasn’t rushing. When guard Brandon Scherff, the Redskins’ best player, looked away, Trevathan sprinted in to sack quarterback Case Keenum. He joked afterward that he took the move out of the “archives.”
RRH at DE
Roy Robertson-Harris started for defensive end for Bilal Nichols, who was ruled out after breaking his right hand in Week 2. Needing depth, the Bears promoted defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson before the game and cut tackle-turned-tight end Bradley Sowell.
