Three men were arrested Sunday after an attempted robbery of a commercial business in East Garfield Park on the West Side.
About 8:15 p.m., three men are accused of remaining inside of a business in the 3100 block of West Madison Street after it had closed for the evening and the doors were locked, Chicago police said.
The men, allegedly armed with a handgun and a knife, announced a robbery and allegedly took three employees hostage while they tried to steal money, police said.
Police arrived after being waved down by a witness, police said. Officers surrounded the building, entered and took the three men into custody.
A weapon was also recovered, police said.
No victims were injured, police said. One of the three men who were arrested was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital after complaining of chest pain.
