RANCHI: The main accused and two of his accomplices were arrested on Sunday from Nalanda in Bihar for threatening to blow up the Birsa Munda International Airport with a phone call and an SMS on July 28 and 29 if their demand of Rs 20 lakh cash was not met, police said on Monday. Police, however, refused to divulge details of the accused but said they were arrested by a team of state cops with help from their Bihar counterparts.
CISF commandant Manish Kumar said, “We initiated the additional security drill. The investigation is on and only after it is over, we will know for sure if the threat was real or fake.” Notably, the CISF has also strengthened the security in and around the airport.
