3 adults, 1 child found dead in Texas home

Dec. 29--Three adults and a child were found dead with "obvious signs of trauma" Sunday afternoon in a home near Fort Worth, police said, adding that they are not looking for suspects and do not believe the public is in danger.

Although he declined to describe the situation in Crowley, Texas, as a possible murder-suicide, Police Chief Luis Soler told reporters Sunday night that everything indicates it was "an isolated incident contained in this residence."

A 9-year-old boy who lived in the home emerged uninjured and is in protective custody, Soler said.

Officials learned of the situation around 4:15 p.m. when a woman called 911. Soler said the 9-year-old had called the woman and told her that an adult at the home had been injured in a suicide attempt.

When police arrived minutes later, they found four "obviously deceased persons" with "obvious signs of trauma" -- two women, a man and a girl, police said -- and there was no sign of forced entry.

The identities of the dead were not released. Soler said that they appeared to be a family and that the 9-year-old -- who seemed to be the only witness -- was related to them. No one else appears to have lived at the home, he said.

Police are trying to piece together what happened, Soler said, emphasizing that the investigation is in its early stages.

Crowley is a city south of Fort Worth with a population of approximately 14,000.
