BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh recorded a Covid-19 fatality on Saturday, second this week after first death was reported on June 15 after a gap of a month. Death toll due to Covid-19 increased to 10,740 in the state since the pandemic began.
The deceased was 55-year-old woman from rural Jabalpur. She was on dialysis support and died due to multiorgan failure, according to reports.
As many as 65 new cases were reported across Madhya Pradesh, according to state health bulletin on Saturday. The tally in the state rose to 10,43,474. The recovery count increased by 70 to touch 10,32,319. There are 415 active cases remaining in the state. 230 of these patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 are in Bhopal and Indore. Indore has 134 active cases of the infection.
A high of 18 cases each were reported in Bhopal and Indore, on Saturday. Six new cases were diagnosed in Jabalpur, four from Gwalior and three from Sehore. Based on 6,977 samples of suspected tested, the positivity rate increased to 0.93.
