Madeline is a talented nine-year-old who can sing beautifully, a gift she got from her late mother. Her one dream is to sing for people and when she hears about The Cat's Pajamas she knows that she wants to sing there.
Sarina Greene is Madeline's teacher and after spending a whirlwind night with a childhood friend, they hear about the cat's pajamas they decide to pay the club a visit.
Jack Lorca is the owner of the cat's pajamas and after receiving a visit from the police telling him about a fine he has to pay and that he has to change the running of the club he is scared about what's going to happen to him if the club is closed. So he tries his best to keep it open.
What will happen when these three meet at 2am at the cat's pajamas?
I really enjoyed this book. All the characters were really different and not perfect so they seemed really lifelike. I also think the jazz club setting worked really well and I think that this book was an awesome read!
I recommend this book for people who love music (in particular jazz music) and people who like reading contemporary novels!
