29 test positive for Covid in Madhya Pradesh, none in 41 districts

BHOPAL: Only 29 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the state on Friday and with these the tally of cases reported so far increased to 7,90,125. Cases were reported in single digits from all the 52 districts of the state.

No Covid-19 positive cases were reported from 41 districts of the state and 3 of those remaining 11 districts reported only one new case each. Overall there were 406 active patients in the state as on July 9.

Maximum cases were reported from Bhopal and Indore where seven new cases were reported from each of these districts, other six districts namely Jabalpur, Gwalior, Balaghat, Betul, Chhatarpur and Rajgarh reported two cases each.

And on Friday 0.03% positivity rate was reported in the state. Positivity rate is the number of people testing positive out every 100 samples tested.

On July 9, 74371 samples were tested and of it, 29 were found positive, thus on an average 1 person out of every around 3300 who were tested was found to be positive.

The number of people recovering from disease also outnumbered the number of people testing positive as 38 people recovered from the disease on Friday. With these people recovering, the number of people who have recovered so far from covid-19 reached 780695.

At the same time, 1 death was reported in the state. With these, death toll due to covid-19 reached 9024.
