27-year-old patient with no underlying health conditions dies in Nottingham after testing positive for coronavirus

Hospital bosses in Nottingham have confirmed that five more patients have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

The patients, aged between 27 and 92, died on Wednesday, April 1.

The NHS Trust has confirmed the 27-year-old did not have any underlying health conditions.

It brings the total number of deaths within the city to 36.

Dr Keith Girling, Medical Director at Nottingham University Hospitals said: “Sadly we can confirm that a further five patients have died having tested positive for COVID-19.

"Regrettably that means that 36 COVID-19 positive patients we were caring for have sadly died since the beginning of March.

“The patients were aged between 27 and 92, and died on the 1 April. All patients had an underlying health condition, except for the 27-year-old patient.”

“The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”
