26 persons and two bulls injured in jallikattu at Manjampatti

Twenty-six persons were injured in jallikattu at Manjampatti near Manapparai in Tiruchi district on Sunday.

According to official sources, 724 bulls were released one after the other in the event and 294 tamers participated. A total of 26 persons – two spectators, 11 bull tamers, 11 bull owners and two organisers – and two bulls were injured. An injured bull owner was taken to the government hospital while the others were treated at the event venue.
