Some 200 Saudis arrived in Riyadh from London on Monday as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to return citizens stranded abroad due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 254 travelers were flown by Saudi Arabian Airlines and received at King Khalid International Airport by representatives from the ministries of foreign affairs, tourism and health and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

Prior to their departure, they were tested at London airport. They were seated at the necessary distance in the plane and passed through a series of preventive measures from the moment they landed in Riyadh and left the airport.

All returnees must sit through a mandatory 14-day quarantine period before they are allowed to go back to their homes.

The Saudis expressed their overwhelming joy at returning to their country, expressing their gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for its efforts.

On Sunday, 145 Saudis had returned to the Kingdom from Mauritius.
