23 yr old tries Bryan Johnson's anti-aging lifestyle; documents his 75-day journey on YouTube

Bryan Johnson, a 46-year-old tech millionaire, has gained significant attention on social media for his efforts to combat aging through a longevity project called ‘Blueprint’.

He refers to this project as an "algorithm" aimed at preserving his body. Johnson follows an extensive regimen that includes consuming over 100 supplements daily, undergoing frequent medical assessments, adhering to a strict diet with no food after 11 a.m., maintaining an early bedtime and experimenting with various treatments.

Some of these experiments include blood-plasma donations from his son and shockwave therapy to rejuvenate his penis.

YouTuber Andrew Boyd takes on the challengeInspired by Johnson's approach, a 23-year-old Andrew Boyd, decided to try the Blueprint diet and document his 75-day journey on his YouTube channel, Project Andrew. Andrew reported feeling "incredible" after just a week on the diet, losing about six pounds and achieving an average sleep score of 95%. These initial positive effects motivated him to continue the diet for an additional 75 days.

Andrew, however, made some modifications to the diet to suit his younger age and the availability of resources and medications.

He followed the meal plan using recipes from Johnson's website and selectively chose vitamins to align with his needs, spending approximately $112.34 (9413 rupees) a week on food and supplements and dedicating four hours per week to meal preparation.

The outcomes were promising for Andrew: he felt focused, energized, lost nearly 30 pounds, and saw a significant reduction in body fat percentage.

Andrew's opinion of the regime

In his YouTube channel, Andrew explains, “Blueprint is not about the exact diet, it's not about the exact exercise protocol. It's not about red light therapy or a bedtime routine or about skincare. At its core project, Blueprint is about using measurement and data to back up health choices.”

During the regime, Andrew also noted certain concerns about the diet, such as being in a calorie deficit and its potential effects on hormones. He questioned the use of exogenous hormones like testosterone, suggesting a preference for addressing dietary issues over introducing external hormones.

Additionally, he expressed concerns about the multitude of variables being tested. In the video he mentions “Another thing that I think is problematic with Blueprint is the number of variables that the team is testing at all times. If on any given week, Bryan is trialing 15 different things, how can they be sure that they're not confusing what's causing what? From the outside looking in it seems like they might be messing with too many things at once.”

Overall, while Andrew looks fitter and healthier than before and also says that his energy levels are constantly improving, it is no doubt that the Blueprint regime, tweaked here and there, is proving to be good for him.

Bryan Johnson's quest for youth commenced in 2020, and he has since invested an estimated $6 million in this pursuit. A dedicated team of over 30 doctors regularly monitors various aspects of his health, including blood, heart, liver, kidneys, brain, blood vessels, and sexual health. Johnson asserts that he now possesses the heart of a 37-year-old, the skin of a 28-year-old, and the fitness level of an 18-year-old.
