The Ohio State Buckeyes had a dominant 2019 campaign. While it was capped off with a disappointing semifinal loss to the Clemson Tigers, quarterback Justin Fields and the Buckeyes will be back with a vengeance in 2020.
It’s not just an attitude of righting a wrong they’ll have, but one of the nation’s best recruiting classes as well. If you thought Fields was enough, imagine pairing him with the nation’s best wide receiver and offensive lineman.
Ohio State will have talent all over the field, and it’ll likely be the prohibitive favorite to take the Big Ten crown again.
That said, 247 Sports’ columnist Brad Crawford looked to predict the 2020 bowl games, and he placed Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, meaning he thinks they’ll end the season as the nation’s best team.
Crawford didn’t spend much time talking up Ohio State but more on Florida, the Buckeyes’ opponent.
“The other team here is chalk. Ohio State should field the most talented team nationally next fall with Justin Fields back and a host of playmakers around him,” Crawford said of the Buckeyes.
He predicts Clemson to take on Bama in the Sugar Bowl and then a rematch of Ohio State and Clemson in the national championship game, where Ohio State can enact its revenge on the 2019 runners up.
For Ohio State fans, we can only hope it plays out this way.
