247 Sports predicts Buckeyes to lose two, finish third in Big Ten

Ohio State will come into the 2019 season as the Big Ten Conferences’ favorite. However, according to 247 Sports, they won’t end that way.

The CBS-owned site predicts the Buckeyes to lose two conference games in 2019. And just for the record, the last time OSU lost two games in the Big Ten was back in 2011 before Urban Meyer came on the scene.

Although they project two losses, columnist James Jordan doesn’t dare forecast a home loss. And, he also doesn’t take a wild stab at a mid-season, unpredictable loss to a Big Ten team that OSU is known for — at least the last two seasons.

Jordan has Ohio State losing to Nebraska and Michigan. Those two will only meet each other in the Big Ten Championship if OSU somehow doesn’t find its way in the game for the third consecutive season.

The prediction is a bit out of left field, but analysts are entitled to their opinion. Sometimes folks can out think themselves and it’s quite possible Jordan has here.

The Buckeyes do have a difficult schedule in what could be the NCAA’s toughest conference. For them, there’s no excuse if they can’t get the job done.

It should be Big Ten Championship or bust in Ryan Day’s first season. That’s the expectation, and it’d be a great day in Columbus if that’s how Day’s era is ushered in.
