24 Glasgow words from childhood that you rarely use as an adult

It goes without saying that Glaswegians are blessed with a unique sense of humour - and it's embraced the world over thanks to people like Limmy, Billy Connolly and Kevin Bridges.

And here in Glasgow, we also benefit from a rich pot of Glasgow-specific words that might might sound like pure gobbledygook to the untrained ear - but they do help to get that wonderful sense of humour across.

There's even a fascinating suggestion that we could essentially be considered bilingual, with our capacity to go between our Glaswegian local lingo and the Queen's English - not too removed from those who speak language pairs such as Spanish and Catalan.

And speaking of words, we thought we'd compile a list of the phrases we all used to wheel out to our pals in the playground - the secret code you needed to survive in those days before mortgages or other grown up things, but that would probably get you some weird looks if you tried to use them now.
