230 complaints but no action: Who’s to blame in Indraprastha College ‘molestation’ case?

It’s been nearly a month since students of Delhi’s Indraprastha College for Women submitted 230 handwritten complaints to their principal, alleging sexual harassment by “outsiders” during a college event. Only one FIR has been filed in the matter, and the college has responded by adding one security guard to its previous strength of two.

Two of the complainants told Newslaundry there had been multiple security lapses on March 28, when images went viral of men scaling the college walls.

“A girl was wearing a dress with strings. People untied her dress,” alleged one of them. “When a student volunteer told these boys to leave the campus, he spat on her.”

While over 1,000 alumni of the college have come out in support of the students, the major concern is what action the college plans to take. Who is to blame? Watch.
