BHOPAL: A total of 23 new Covid-19 cases were reported in state on Monday. From 136 on March 31, Madhya Pradesh now has as many as 190 active cases. Positivity rate increased marginally to 0.3%.
It was nearly after a month-and-a-half that more than 30 new Covid-19 cases were reported in state on Friday as 34 people tested positive for the infection. It further increased to 46 on Saturday and on Sunday, 31 new cases were reported. After three consecutive days of more than 30 new cases being reported, 23 were found positive on Monday.
Against these 23 new cases, only four people recovered from the disease on Monday taking the tally of recoveries so far in the state to 10,30,589.
With the number of low recoveries, the tally of active patients increased to 190 on May 2, from 171 on May 1. On April 29, active cases had crossed 100 mark after more than 25 days as it was last on April 3, when 106 active cases were in the state and since then, these numbers remained below 100, and in the last three days it has crossed 190.
No death was attributed to Covid-19 in the state on Monday. New infections were reported from nine districts — seven from Bhopal, four from Shivpuri, three each from Indore and Morena and two from Gwalior district. Khandwa, Raisen, Sagar and Ujjain districts reported one case each.
