Kaynat Chainwala, AVP Commodity Research, Kotak Securities says, "Spot Gold and Silver rose more than 1% to $4541/oz and $77/oz today as weakness in oil prices reduced worries about inflation and the path of interest rates following reports of a partial ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel signaled a limited de-escalation in the wider regional conflict. The rebound follows Monday’s decline, when gold slipped more than 1% to close below $4500 and silver also eased to $73.6 as a stronger U.S. dollar and elevated Treasury yields weighed on precious metals. Dollar holding firmly above 99, alongside concerns that higher oil prices could keep inflation sticky, pressured bullion, while the stronger U.S. economy, highlighted by the ISM Manufacturing PMI, reinforced expectations that the Federal Reserve may hold rates higher for longer."
