A major road closure in the heart of Manchester is set to bring more misery to motorists from Friday.
Transport bosses have warned a full closure of Victoria Street will be in place for 17 days until May 20.
Victoria Street runs from behind Manchester Cathedral up to Manchester Arena.
Although pedestrianised in part outside the cathedral, the road is accessed from Chapel Street and Hunt's Bank from Manchester Victoria railway station and crucially, runs around under the railway bridges up to the Trinity Way crossroads with Great Ducie Street and the A56 Bury New Road.
That arterial junction is one of the city centre's busiest at rush hour and days of delays are expected again.

The fresh closure is part of an ongoing Network Rail project to refurbish the railway bridges.
The three Grade II-listed bridges over Great Ducie Street and Victoria Street are being repaired, cleaned and painted under the Great North Rail Project, a region-wide improvement and capacity programme which saw the Ordsall Chord built to link Victoria with Piccadilly station.
Bosses said the repairs and maintenance - just a mile away from the Regent Road works - were 'vital' as the structures support the line going into Victoria.
A full closure of the same stretch in February led to widespread congestion for traffic coming into Manchester from the north of the city.

At the bottom of the Great Ducie Street/Bury New Road junction, three lanes were reduced to one lane.
Traffic could still turn left and right at the junction, but the bottleneck caused major delays.
Transport for Greater Manchester has issued a warning ahead of the second closure phase and said diversions would be in force.
All trains will run as normal.
"Please remember to plan ahead," said TfGM.
Sarah Padmore, scheme project manager for Network Rail, said: "The work will have an impact on road traffic through the area over the coming months, but trains will not be affected. Scaffolding has been installed beneath and around the bridges.
"As part of the Great North Rail Project, we are carrying out vital repair work to the three bridge structures which support the railway on the western side of Manchester Victoria station.
"I'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank local people and road users in advance for their patience while we deliver this essential work."
The bridges are due to be grit blasted to expose their metal structures so engineers can carry out the repairs needed.
All three bridges are then expected to be repainted.
Mirabel Street meanwhile will remain closed at its junction with Victoria Street until the end of June.
