22-year-old held for killing grandmother in Nagpur

NAGPUR: The Nandanvan police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly murdering his 78-year-old grandmother at their New Nandanvan area residence on November 27.

The accused, Mitesh Pachbhai, broke down during the interrogation spilling the beans before the police.

He admitted to have committed the murder after a brief altercation with the victim, Devkabai Bobde.

According to police, Pachbhai's parents, who are Ayruvedic practitioners, were also miffed with Devkabai as she wasn't helping him to get loans which he needed for going to the US.

The monetary issue and regular tiff with Devkabai had left Pachbhai enraged.

Police said Pachbhai used to be pulled up by Devkabai on some or the other domestic issues which left him enraged.

As per a senior police official, Pachbhai had committed the murder following a heated argument.
