Jeff Bezos made history on Tuesday after the Amazon founder made a very brief trip to space on board his Blue Origin spaceship.
Bezos, along with three others, spent around 11 minutes in the New Shepard rocket which reached the edge of space before returning to Earth.
It’s just another chapter in the space race between billionaires who have been criticised for seeming more focused on sending into space than using their money to fix problems here on Earth.
As you can imagine, Bezos’s position as the founder of Amazon, perhaps one of the most controversial brands on the planet, meant that his little jaunt into the stars above was rife for memes and jokes.
It's been a couple of hours now and Jeff Bezos and his crew don't seem to be showing any adverse side effects… pic.twitter.com/cBH5lskr8v

Jeff Bezos should just play against Newcastle, then he'd get to spend ninety minutes in space.

If you’ve seen Bezos’s Blue Origin ship then you’ll be well aware that it resembles well... err... the male appendage (this is reportedly quite common for suborbital commercial space programs). We’re sure this was unintentional from Bezos and his team but that didn’t stop a downpour of very NFSW jokes flooding onto Twitter.
Sorry for the aborted launch!!! I’m a bad twitterer.

I just logged on and apparently Bezos rode a big dick into space? Is that about right?

There are sometimes signs that people working for a rich/powerful person have utter contempt for their boss. The dong rocket is one of those signs.

Others were just unimpressed by how short the flight was.
The duration of that Blue Origin flight was ... approximately one Quibi.

Jeff Bezos spent ten minutes and ten seconds in space. Around the time it took @EdGambleComedy to inflate and pop 41 balloons on Taskmaster. Unimpressed.

Well, there you go then Mr Bezos. You managed to reach space and also spawn dozens of very crude memes in the same day. Quite an effort there from the billionaire.
