22 incredible photos as Liverpool's Halloween parade returns for 2022

Liverpool annual Halloween parade transformed city centre once again tonight.

From unusual sights to loud bangs and shrieks, there’s been some rather unusual happenings going on in the city tonight. That’s because ghouls and zombies joined drumming and dance carnival band Katumba to launch an immersive spectacle featuring visual performance, theatre and music.

Last year’s event was ultimately called off due to wet weather. However, pop up performances still went ahead in the city including at Liverpool ONE and under the umbrella installation in Church Alley.

This year, the city centre once again turned into a magical environment using puppetry, dazzling lights and tribal drumming. The parade marked the ending to Katumba's Halloween Festival, which has seen two weeks of free family-friendly cultural, arts and wellbeing events take place across Liverpool.

Starting from 7pm on Bold Street, the parade headed through the city centre towards Church Street into Liverpool ONE, before the grand finale took place outside John Lewis on Paradise Street.
