Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Dominic Choi announced on Friday morning that a total of 210 officers have been deployed to areas in Los Angeles impacted by fires. The primary objective of this deployment is to maintain 'law and order' in these regions.
Choi emphasized that the officers are patrolling the affected areas to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety. He specifically addressed the issue of looting, stating that there is a 'zero tolerance' policy in place. Anyone caught looting or engaging in criminal behavior in the fire-affected zones will face arrest and prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.

The presence of law enforcement officers in these areas aims to provide a sense of security to residents and prevent opportunistic crimes during this challenging time. The proactive measures taken by the Los Angeles Police Department underscore their commitment to upholding public safety and protecting the affected communities.
