
Seven joint committees are working within the Saudi-Emirati integration system to implement a number of initiatives and strategic and developmental projects aimed at achieving prosperity and security and unifying visions and ideas to create a better future for the citizens of the two countries.
The joint committees were announced at a recent meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-UAE Coordination Council in Riyadh.
These committees manage 21 developmental areas and evaluate all opportunities for joint cooperation between the two countries.
Among the most recently announced initiatives are the activation of the common market project, a unified strategy for food security, the development of a joint vision for tourism, the establishment of the Saudi-Emirati Youth Council and the Joint Committee for Media Cooperation, in addition to a cybersecurity strategy and a joint committee to promote commodities and industries globally.
The initiatives also include cooperation in the field of energy and industry, logistics integration and activation of partnerships in the diplomatic field.
The Saudi-UAE Coordination Council was established as part of an agreement between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in May 2016, under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to achieve a common vision centered on highlighting the status of the two countries in the areas of economy, human development, political integration and military security, in order to achieve the welfare of the two peoples.
