The 2026 Grammy nominations are here, and the snubs and surprises this year are messyyyyy.
In true headliner fashion, Kendrick Lamar is lapping the competition with a whopping nine nods. Right behind him is Lady Gaga, still serving theatrical realness with seven nominations, and Sabrina Carpenter, fresh from her Man’s Best Friend fame with six noms.

And, in what can only be described as the most Grammy move ever, Fab Morvan (yes, of Milli Vanilli infamy) could possibly cop an award for narrating his own redemption story in the ‘Best Audio Book’ category, but he is up against the literal Dalai Lama so it could be anyone’s game!
But because the Grammys can’t resist starting beef, there were plenty of snubs and upsets. The Weeknd? Snubbed again, even after his olive branch performance. Whole lotta nothing for his album Hurry Up Tomorrow. Lorde’s Virgin — which critics are calling the “bravest album of her career” — also got snubbed, receiving no nominations proving she’s not the Grammy’s “Favourite Daughter” (a tragedy in my opinion).

The white boys of the year also got snubbed with Alex Warren‘s “Ordinary” not making the nominations list (although he is up for best new artist) and Benson Boone, and Morgan Wallen coming up empty as well. I guess the Grammy’s aren’t a fan of flips or country singers using racial slurs. Maybe they do get some things right.
Redemption arcs? Got ‘em! Bad Bunny just made history as the first Spanish-language artist to collect nominations for Album, Record, and Song of the Year in one fell swoop with Debí Tirar Más Fotos. Netflix’s “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters had a moment, and Rosé of Blackpink joined forces with Bruno Mars for awards show domination.

A Taylor Swift nomination is absent for the first time since the 2018 awards, but to be clear she was not snubbed — she just missed the eligibility cutoff and is almost certainly planning world domination for next year.
