2023 U.S. Open field at Los Angeles Country Club is at 150 with final 6 spots to be determined Monday

The third men’s major championship of the year is on the horizon, as Los Angeles Country Club is set to host the 123rd U.S. Open.

Matt Fitzpatrick, who outlasted Will Zalatoris and Scottie Scheffler at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, last year, enters the week as the defending champion.

Two major winners have already been crowned in 2023: Jon Rahm at the Masters in April and Brooks Koepka at the PGA Championship in May.

Scheffler is the betting favorite to win in LA at +750, followed by Rahm at +900 and Koepka at +1200.

The field will be 156 next Thursday when the first round begins. So far, 150 golfers have earned their way in.

The final spots will be filled after the release of Monday’s updated Official World Golf Ranking. If there are still open spots, the USGA will determine which alternates from the final qualifying stages will get in.
