2023 NFL draft sets record for most trades ever

The NFL draft is known for having a lot of trades. Teams will value players in different spots and exchange draft picks and sometimes veteran players to move up in the draft to get their guy.

In the 2023 NFL draft, there was a record amount of trades, breaking the previous record of 40. The trade that set it over the top was the Houston Texans moving up to No. 205 with the Buffalo Bills. They sent No. 230 and a 2024 sixth round pick.

The Minnesota Vikings contributed to that record, making three trades throughout the draft. They traded No. 87 to the San Francisco 49ers, No. 119 to the Kansas City Chiefs and traded up with the Indianapolis Colts for No. 141.
