2023 NFL Draft: Seahawks take selfie w/ Florida QB Anthony Richardson

The Seattle Seahawks grand selfie tour of 2023 had one more stop and it was in Gainesville, Florida. The top Seahawks brass, including head coach Pete Carroll, general manager John Schneider, offensive coordinator Shane Waldron and other executives, visited the University of Florida’s pro day.

Well wouldn’t you know it, the group managed to run into Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson, and they did what they’ve done all offseason: take a selfie.

Richardson now joins C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, and Will Levis as a quarterback Seattle’s leadership corps took a group photo with during pro day meetings.

Richardson is perhaps the most polarizing prospect. His athletic ability is off the charts, but his numbers at Florida are plenty of reason to give pause. During his three years in Gainesville, Richardson threw 24 total touchdowns, 15 interceptions, and only completed 54% of his passes.

Still, the talent is there. Richardson is being compared to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who didn’t have great stats at Wyoming, had a rough first two years as a starter, then eventually blossomed into a star with his unique athleticism. Perhaps what Richardson needs is time to sit behind an established veteran for a few years to develop further.
