“Lies! Deceptions!”
So lamented the brilliant Forest Whitaker’s freedom fighter Saw Gerrera in a paranoid rant during 2016’s Star Wars antifascist spy/heist masterpiece Rogue One. It would also be a fitting complaint for anyone trying to make sense of what their team is going to do heading into the 2022 NFL draft.
Like it or not lies, deceptions, shameless rumors, smokescreens and flooding the zone with nonsense are all part of the game this time of the year. Beat reporters have their mettle tested as 32 teams play a game of will-they-or-won’t-they with each other as they compete over the top 250 or so college prospects from around the country.
As for the Seahawks, they are absolutely certain to be either trading up or down, definitely targeting a quarterback, or maybe a nose tackle, or perhaps a cornerback – but probably a left tackle. Put it another way, nobody really knows what they’re planning except the people inside the building.
In any case, for whatever it’s worth here’s the latest buzz regarding Seattle heading into the draft.
