Day 1 is in the books.
The 2022 Mountain West basketball tournament is underway with the opening round games that featured an overtime game and a blowout at the Thomas & Mack Center.
These opening round games are now quarterfinal games with Nevada, Fresno State, and Utah State all advancing to the next round.
All of the higher seeds won their games but the two close games were Nevada winning by single digits over New Mexico and the most exciting game of the day with Fresno State needing overtime to hold off San Jose state.
