The 2022 NFL Draft is coming soon and now is as good as any to see where these soon-to-be former Mountain West players are being ranked and possibly drafted.
We went through our fellow USA TODAY sites, Touchdown Wire, College Football News, and Draft Wire for their rankings to see what they think about the Mountain West prospects, and what ones have a good chance of being drafted.

Compared to last year when the Mountain West had just three players drafted but this year there should be quite a few more selected. Colorado State, Nevada, Boise State, San Diego State, and Wyoming are the likely schools to have players drafted this year.
After going through these rankings and others, it seems that Colorado State tight end is the odds on favorite to be the first Mountain West player taken in the NFL Draft.
Unless there is an odd 2018 situation when former San Diego State Aztecs running back Rashaad Penny who went in the first round, it should be McBride as the first selection from the Mountain West.
Nevada quarterback Carson Strong will be an interesting case since this class of signal-callers is not all that great but teams always seemingly overvalue that position. Strong is considered around a top five guy and that just might land him in the second-to third-round range of this week’s upcoming NFL Draft.
Two wide receivers who did not make this list that have a chance to earn a flier on and be selected are Nevada’s Romeo Doubs who was a legitimate deep threat and caught basically anything within reach from Strong over the past two years.
The other is Utah State wide receiver and returner Savon Scarver. Scarver had seven kick off returns for a touchdown which tied the NCAA record. He is far more dangerous on returns but he has shown some signs of being a decent wide receiver. That versatility will go a long way for him to be a possible draft pick or at least latch on with a team after the draft as an undrafted free agent.

The 2022 NFL Draft will be held from April 28-30, with Round 1 beginning on Friday the 28th, Rounds 2 and 3 commencing on the 29th, and then the final four rounds of the NFL Draft will finish up on Saturday, April 30.
The total number of picks this year is 262 picks made during the 2022 NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars currently have the top overall pick with the current final pick going to the San Fransico 49ers.
