The Bears had just five picks — none in the first two rounds — in the 2019 draft and didn’t have a first this year. They’ll be much closer to a full stock of selections in 2021.
They’ll have their first first-round pick since taking linebacker Roquan Smith at No. 8 in 2018. They missed them the last two years because of general manager Ryan Pace’s trade for Khalil Mack.
In 2021, they’ll have their own pick in the first, second, third, fifth and sixth rounds. The Bears have not acquired any additional picks, but OverTheCap projects them to pick up three sixth-rounders and a seventh as compensatory picks for the departures of defensive tackle Nick Williams, backup quarterback Chase Daniel, safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and backup linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis.
The Bears traded their 2021 fourth-round pick to get a fifth-rounder this year and take Tulsa defensive end Trevis Gipson. They also surrendered their 2021 seventh-rounder as a conditional pick in the Eddy Pineiro trade, and by Pineiro playing five or more games, that selection goes to the Raiders.
The Bears have not made any trades involving their picks in 2022 or beyond.
