Sunday night’s weird ending to the NFC East race resulted in the Detroit Lions earning the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Detroit has the worst strength of schedule of the teams that finished with 5-11 records, edging out Denver and Carolina for the best pick in the first round of those teams. They will alternate picking first with those teams in subsequent rounds.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost to Washington on Sunday night to fall to 4-11-1 and lock up the No. 6 pick. Had the Eagles won, Detroit would have picked sixth.
