2021 NFL Draft: Mock Draft Round 2
1 (33) Jacksonville
WR Elijah Moore, Ole Miss
The Jaguars will likely trade down from this spot to crank up a slew of more picks, but if they stick, there aren’t many strong options considering their needs. They got their quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, and they have their running back in Travis Etienne. Now here comes their game-breaking receiver.
2 (34) New York Jets
CB Tyson Campbell, Georgia
Everyone knew the Jets would take Zach Wilson at the 2, and they got him a blocker with Alijah Vera-Tucker at the 14. Now they have to deal with their cornerback issues, with Campbell one of the few good ones still remaining.
3 (35) Atlanta
LB Azeez Ojulari, Georgia
The Falcons weren’t messing around at the 4 grabbing TE Kyle Pitts, but they need pass rushing help and more disruption in the backfield. Ojulari isn’t an end, but he’s a force who can screw up offenses.
4 (36) Miami (from Houston)
OT Tevin Jenkins, Oklahoma State
Jenkins couldn’t and probably should’ve gone in the first round, but his rough Thursday should be Miami’s big get on Friday. The Dolphins need to start adding to the infrastructure after passing on Penei Sewell for Jaylen Waddle at the 6 and helping the pass rush with Jaelan Phillips at the 18.
5 (37) Philadelphia
LB Jeremiah Owusu-Oramuah, Notre Dame
Very, very, very athletic, the Notre Dame all-around playmaker can fill a big need in the back seven. It would be nice to get. defensive back here, but Owusu-Oramoah is slipping too far.
6 (38) Cincinnati
DT Christian Barmore, Alabama
The Bengals have to address the offensive line at some point – taking WR Ja’Marr Chase over Penei Sewell was a huge call – but they also need help for the defensive front. Taking the best defensive tackle in the draft at the 38 would be terrific.
7 (39) Carolina
WR Terrace Marshall, LSU
The Panthers keep going defense, defense, defense – until now. After going all defense in last year’s draft and picking up South Carolina CB Jaycee Horn with the eighth pick, it’s finally time to grab someone for the O. Sam Darnold needs more targets.
8 (40) Denver
QB Davis Mills, Stanford
Denver had Justin Fields and Mac Jones there at the nine, but it’s hard to fault taking Alabama CB Patrick Surtain. Now it’s time to make the call on a quarterback, and Mills – who could’ve and probably should’ve slid into the first round – will be the story of Day Two.
9 (41) Detroit
S trevon Moehrig, TCU
This is beyond ridiculous. Moehrig is the best safety in the draft and could’ve gone in the top 15 with no one blinking, but he’ll slide on down way too far. The Lions will put a stop to that here.
10 (42) New York Giants
LB Nick Bolton, Missouri
After reaching a wee bit for a WR taking Kadarius Toney at the 20, now it’s time to start going after the defensive side with the linebacker that have to have. Bolton isn’t the pass rusher from the outside the Giants would like to have, but he fits the D.

11 (43) San Francisco
DE Carlos Basham, Wake Forest
The offense has to address the offensive line at some point, but the D line needs more parts and more pass rushers. Enter Carlos Basham, who should be an instant factor in a rotation.
12 (44) Dallas
DT Jay Tufele, USC
Dallas started working on the defense and it needs to keep pumping talent into the mix. LB Micah Parsons was a wonderful start, and it’s going to keep on coming. Tufele fits exactly what the Cowboys need on the inside rotation.
13 (45) Jacksonville (from Minnesota)
TE Pat Friermuth, Penn State
The Jaguars will keep taking talent as Urban Meyer keeps taking guy after guy after guy who can make an impact right away. The defense has to be addressed, but he’ll give Trevor Lawrence a tight end as a safety valve.
14 (46) New England
WR Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State
Bill Belichick has a miserable track record of drafting receivers lately – he’ll take Friermuth if he’s here – but Wallace is a baller who could instantly become Mac Jones’ favorite target.
15 (47) Los Angeles Chargers
CB/S Elijah Molden, Washington
There’s a shot the Chargers keep on pumping talent into the offensive line after drafting Rashawn Slater in the first, but they also need to add more to the secondary. Molden would be the first of a few new options to at least provide depth.
16 (48) Las Vegas
S Jevon Holland, Oregon
The Raiders blew it on the value by taking Alabama OT Alex Leatherwood way, way too early in the first. They still need defensive back help, and it comes with the best option on the board.
17 (49) Arizona
WR Rondale Moore, Purdue
What have we learned about Arizona? The franchise likes freakish athleticism – hello LB Zaven Collins in the first round. Kyler Murray needs more playmakers, and Moore and his speed would be devastating in the attack.
18 (50) Miami
DT Levi Onwuzurike, Washington
Assuming the Dolphins address the O line early in the second round, they’ll keep helping out the defensive front here with some bulk for the interior. It might not be a glaring need, but the team will keep on building.
19 (51) Washington
OT Sam Cosmi, Texas
The O line didn’t get any first round help with the defense landing Kentucky LB Jamin Davis. The versatility of Cosmi matters – he’ll start out at guard but will test out at tackle.
20 (52) Chicago
OT Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame
Now the Bears have to protect their new star quarterback. Justin Fields needs blockers on a leaky Chicago line, and while Eichenberg is hardly perfect, he’s going to be a piece of the puzzle early on.

21 (53) Tennessee
OT Walker Little, Stanford
The Titans will go with the best offensive lineman available. They need a wide receiver, and they could use another defensive back after drafting Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley in the first, but they need to overcome the sins of the 2020 draft with a prospect for the O line.
22 (54) Indianapolis
OT/OG Dillon Radunz, North Dakota State
The Colts have two glaring needs – defensive end and offensive line. They got Michigan’s Kwity Paye for the pass rush, but the versatile Radunz could be the more important pick for a line that needs more tackle options.
23 (55) Pittsburgh
OG Wyatt Davis, Ohio State
Is it the running backs or is it the offensive line? The Steelers got the running back in Najee Harris in the first round, and now they have to start drafting blasters. There will be more in the top 100.
24 (56) Seattle
CB Paulson Adebo, Stanford
The guy fits. The Seahawks have to come up with a playmaker at corner – and they need to nail this pick with just three selections. Adebo has top 15 talent but hasn’t played for a while. He’s an instant fit.
25 (57) Los Angeles Rams
OT Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa
The Rams finally get to play. They might go with one of the centers on the board, but they need an offensive tackle, too. They’ll deal with the interior later – they’ll go after the outside first.
26 (58) Kansas City (from Baltimore)
DE Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma
This SO fits. The Chiefs need a defensive end and a pass rusher or two, and a few should be available here. It’s their first selection in the draft, and they’ll either go with the all-around talent in Perkins or …
27 (59) Cleveland
DE Joseph Ossai, Texas
D line, D line, D line. The Browns will get a tackle at some point, but they have to get younger out the outside. They went after a corner with Greg Newsome in the first round, and here they’ll get Ossai to be a disruptive force.
28 (60) New Orleans
CB Asante Samuel, Florida State
The Saints got their pass rushing prospect in Payton Turner in the first round, and they’ll get a receiver or two later on, but they have to address the secondary as soon as possible. The value here is at corner.
29 (61) Buffalo
CB/S Ifeatu Melifonwu, Syracuse
Getting a few offensive parts is a must – a strong running back would help – but the Bills need to keep improving the pass D. Miami DE Gregory Rousseau was taken late in the first, and the big Melifonwu would bring the versatility to be an instant playmaker.
30 (62) Green Bay
WR Anthony Schwartz, Auburn
It might not be a first round pick on a wide receiver, but if there’s any hope of reconciling things with Aaron Rodgers, getting one of the fastest players in the draft – and a new contract with a whole lot of money – might help smooth things over.
31 (63) Kansas City
OT Stone Forsythe, Florida
Assume Kansas City hits the pass rush with its first pick at the 26, and then it’ll go after more help for the O line with the next pick. The Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay showed just how important it is to protect Mr. Mahomes a bit better.
32 (64) Tampa Bay
LB Dylan Moses, Alabama
There aren’t any glaring concerns, but the more young parts for the defensive rotation, the better. Moses is the type of guided missile hitter who would make an already good situation even more fantastic.
