2021 Lamborghini Urus Review
Could it be that Lamborghini has created the ultimate SUV? It’s sleek, it’s stylish, it’s fast, it’s luxurious. One really struggles to find even one negative thing to say about this car. Besides its hefty price tag of $222,000 which renders it unaffordable for most people, there’s really not much else to say unless you’d want to freely admit that you have no taste in fine cars.
Urus: Performance Beast
The 2021 Urus is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 32-valve V8 engine that outputs an amazing 641-hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. That’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with optional manual shifting mode if you prefer that level of control.
This is an SUV that can take you from 0 to 60 in just 3.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 190 mph. On the road, the Urus feels, in a word, “dynamic.” It’s an athletic vehicle with incredibly capable steering, adjustable ride heights and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard that give it a stopping distance from 70-mph of just 149 feet. It’s a bit of a gas guzzler, it’s true, but if your budget stretches to a Urus, or to the even finer Urus Pearl Capsule model ($243,226), then the price of gas probably doesn’t worry you at all.
It’s actually the most “affordable” Lamborghini in the range, but that’s something for the supercar demographic to think about more. Whether you stick to the roads in this car, or use the available off-road drive modes and open it up to the wild to see what it’s got, there’s nothing about the performance that will disappoint.
Next-Level Interior
To say that the interior of the Urus is luxurious or splendid would be a gross understatement. It’s frankly other-worldly, like having your own premium fighter jet. Open up the red flip cover to reveal the start button and move the throttle into position for take-off.
Buyers have the option of a 5 or 4-seat configuration on the inside. Going to four seats obviously reduces total passenger capacity, but switching to two rear bucket seats means the rear seats can become power-adjustable with heated surfaces. The front seats also have heating, ventilation and an available massage function to make those longer rides all the more comfortable.
Run your hands along the Urus dash and controls and you won’t find a single bit of cheap or nasty plastic material. Everything is made with fine soft-touch and high-quality materials, including suede, carbon fiber and more. It’s also an SUV, which means you get the added utility of 22 cubic feet of cargo space (20 if you opt for rear bucket seats).
It’s screens galore on the interior. The driver’s instrument cluster is, of course, fully digital, and there are two touch screens built into the center stack. One is for your infotainment, navigation and other digital content. The other is for controlling things like the climate controls. Order the optional Bang & Olufsen premium sound system for the best playlist experience of your life.
Exterior: Athletic Dynamism at its Finest
Heading back outside of the car again, what can one say about the exterior design of the Urus other than simply, wow? It’s jaw-droppingly gorgeous to behold, combining the bold signature angular lines of Lamborghini with just a few coupe-like curves in the sloping roofline and rear end design to add a contemporary sense of metropolitan sheen.
On the Pearl Capsule package (as tested), you get 23-inch wheels added, as well as a host of unique colors to better convey the wild side of the Urus: bright green, orange, and yellow. When these colors are combined with the black detailing on the outside, you get an exquisite juxtaposition that amplifies the magnificence of this SUV.

It’s an expensive car, but for those who are past that, it’s quite possibly the ultimate super SUV driving experience. While other luxury and top-end automotive brands are playing with SUVs, Lamborghini is taking the assignment beyond seriously. It’s nothing short of a masterpiece.
