The Tennessee Titans (8-6) face a tough road to the postseason after a 24-21 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, but some players may still have the opportunity to play beyond the regular season in the 2020 Pro Bowl.
Official rosters for both the AFC and the NFC will be announced at 7 p.m. CST on Tuesday on NFL Network.
Here’s a look at four of the team’s strongest players, and what their chances are.
1. P Brett Kern.
If there’s any player on the Titans’ roster that’s a lock for the Pro Bowl this year, it’s Kern. He finished first in voting among AFC punters with 93,586 votes.
He’s pinned 34 kicks inside the 20 leads the NFL, leading the NFL. His average of 47.5 yards per punt are the most in the AFC.
2. RB Derrick Henry.
Henry was on a hot streak, recording four straight games in which he rushed for at least 100 yards with a touchdown in each.
But he’s declined lately as he’s played though a hamstring injury, and only posted 86 rushing yards in last week’s loss to the Texans.
Henry was sixth in voting among AFC rusher.
3. CB Logan Ryan.
The cornerback has been one of the most important players in the Titans’ defense this season, leading the team in tackles (102 combined, 62 solo) and tied for the most interceptions on the squad (4).
He also has 17 pass breakups — the second-most in the league.
Ryan came out at sixth overall in voting among AFC cornerbacks.
4. S Kevin Byard.
Byard’s four interceptions for 79 yards tie him for the fourth-most in the category in the NFL. He’s recorded 72 tackles (49 solo, 23 assists) and eight pass breakups as well.
Byard finished sixth in voting among AFC safeties.
