So what can the rest of the NFL do to catch up? Free agency could be the answer for some, but for any general manager worth their salt, the draft remains the bee's knees.
There is no real offseason.
We're less than three weeks away from the NFL combine in Indianapolis. The NFL's top free agents will expand their portfolios shortly thereafter. Sprinkle in dozens of pro days, blink a few times and it'll be late April with our attention focused squarely on the Las Vegas strip.
It'll be the 85th time NFL franchises have gathered to select newly eligible players.
The NFL draft has become a nice appetizer before our main course in September. A mock version of said draft is meant to educate, and even entertain. At very least, it helps you pass the time.
The closer we get to draft day, the more I attempt to match what teams will actually do with their draft picks as opposed to what I believe they should do.
Last season, I was the fifth most accurate (out of 101) _ most accurate in print _ NFL draft prognosticator according to The Huddle Report. I'm 18th over the past five years.
