2020 NFL Free Agency: A look at the Giants’ newest contracts

The New York Giants have done substantial work to their roster this offseason, including the big additions of cornerback James Bradberry and linebacker Blake Martinez.

Initially, there was some confusion over the new contracts and how bonuses were structured, but the vast majority of that has been cleaned up thanks to The Athletic.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each new contract:

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Linebacker, David Mayo

Deal: Three years, $8.4 million with $3.5 million guaranteed. $2 million roster bonus in 2020. $50,000 workout bonuses all three years.

Base salary (cap hits):

  • 2020 – $1.5 million ($3.55 million)
  • 2021 – $2.25 million ($2.3 million)
  • 2022 – $2.5 million ($2.55 million)

Wide receiver, Cody Core

Deal: Two years, $4 million with $1 million guaranteed (roster bonus). A second $500,000 roster bonus in 2021 and a $50,000 workout bonus in 2021.

Base salary (cap hits):

  • 2020 – $1 million ($2 million)
  • 2021 – $1.45 million ($2 million)

Deal: One year, $16.126 million on the current franchise tag.

Deal: Two years, $2.2 million with $335,000 guaranteed (roster bonus) and a $50,000 workout bonus in 2020.

Deal: One year, $3.259 million. The deal includes no guaranteed money.

Deal: Three years, $43.5 million with $29.9 million fully guaranteed and a $3 million roster bonus. There are also $100,000 workout bonuses each year of the contract.

  • 2021 – $13.9 million ($17 million)
  • 2022 – $13.4 million ($16.5 million)

Deal: Three years, $30.75 million with $19 million fully guaranteed, a $4 million roster bonus and workout bonuses of $100,000 in both 2021 and 2022.

  • 2021 – $8.125 million ($10.225 million)
  • 2022 – $8.425 million ($10.525 million)

Deal: Two years, $6.2 million with $3.25 million fully guaranteed, a $2 million roster bonus and a $25,000 workout bonus in 2021.

Deal: One year, $1.55 million with no guaranteed money. There is a $28,125 bonus per game on the active roster totaling $450,000.

Deal: One year, $1.5 million with $887,500 guaranteed ($137,000 signing bonus).
