2020 NFL Draft Round 2
1 (33) Cincinnati
OT Josh Jones, Houston
You’ve got the franchise quarterback with Joe Burrow. Now you have to start protecting him. Expect the Bengals to take either Jones or Boise State’s Ezra Cleveland.
2 (34) Indianapolis (from Washington)
CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama
The Colts finally get a chance to pick, and they have their shot at several corners on the board. Diggs is the best one available, but Utah’s Jaylon Johnson would be a find, too.
3 (35) Detroit
DT Ross Blacklock, TCU
The corner need was filled with a star in Ohio State’s Jeff Okudah. The secondary is helped, and now the Lions need a defensive lineman. Iowa DE AJ Epenesa is better, but Blacklock is the versatile option who’d fill in right away.
4 (36) NY Giants
S Xavier McKinney, Alabama
After reaching for Andrew Thomas with the fourth overall pick – the Georgia tackle is really, really good, but not at that spot – the Giants fall into a phenomenal value get with a quarterback for the secondary.
5 (37) New England (from LA Chargers)
LB Zack Baun, Wisconsin
His stock slid out of the first round after problems with his urine test at the combine, but he’s a great fit for a need spot. The Patriots will go with a tight end a little bit later.
6 (38) Carolina
DE Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn State
The Panthers have to go Best Defensive Player Available, and they have to keep doing it, even though they took Auburn’s Derrick Brown in the first round. Gross-Matos fills the pass rushing need.
7 (39) Miami
RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
It’ll either be Taylor, D’Andre Swift, or JK Dobbins. The Dolphins desperately need a running back – Jordan Howard isn’t the guy – and their patience is going to pay off after not taking one in the first round.
8 (40) Houston (from Arizona)
DE AJ Epenesa, Iowa
There aren’t a whole lot of picks to play around with, and this is Houston’s first pick in 2020, so it has to count. Getting Epenesa here to boost up a D line that needs a big depth boost would be a fantastic stroke of luck.
9 (41) Cleveland
S Antoine Winfield, Minnesota
Left tackle was figured out with Jedrick Wills with the tenth overall pick, and now they need a linebacker. This isn’t the spot to get one, so they’ll grab the best safety on the board.
10 (42) Jacksonville
OT Ezra Cleveland, Boise State
Going quarterback – Jacob Eason – would be the smart pick, but the Jaguars need offensive linemen … now. The defense got its help on Day One with CB CJ Henderson and edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson, and now Gardner Minshew gets some protection.

2020 NFL Mock Draft Second Round Picks 11-20
11 (43) Chicago (from Las Vegas)
CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah
The Bears need a tight end – and they have their choice here – but the secondary needs help even more. Expect them to go with the best corner on the board – either Johnson, or Alabama’s Trevon Diggs.
12 (44) Indianapolis
WR Tee Higgins, Clemson
The Colts have to figure out their future at quarterback, but their window for competing for a title is still open. Giving Phil Rivers a big playmaking receiver is the go-for-it pick.
13 (45) Tampa Bay
RB D’Andre Swift, Georgia
Enough is enough. Swift might be the best running back in the draft, but either he’ll be here or Jonathan Taylor or JK Dobbins will slide on down. The Bucs helped out TB12 with OT Tristan Wirfs in the first round, but they need a running back.
14 (46) Denver
LB Kristian Fulton, LSU
WR Jerry Jeudy fell right into Denver’s lap in the first round. Now it needs to address its secondary. It starts with a good-value corner in Fulton.
15 (47) Atlanta
DE Terrell Lewis, Alabama
The Falcons could’ve gone edge rusher or corner in the first round. They went corner with AJ Terrell, and now they need to work on the defensive line. Lewis isn’t going to be the devastating pass rusher they need, but he’s a starter in the second round.
16 (48) NY Jets
WR Michael Pittman, USC
After helping out Sam Darnold with OT Mekhi Becton in the first round, the Jets have to find a top target. They’ll help out their USC quarterback with an ultra-reliable USC wide receiver.
17 (49) Pittsburgh
S Jordan Chinn, Southern Illinois
The Steelers don’t have a whole lot of early picks – this is it until the 102 – so they have to make this count. They have a good spot to shoot for the stars, and Chinn has the top-shelf tools to become a superstar in the back of the D.
18 (50) Chicago
OT RObert Hunt, Louisiana
It would be nice to go with a tight end here, and the safeties on the board will be enticing, but assume the Bears go with the best defensive back on the board with their first pick, and then go need with an athletic young offensive tackle.
19 (51) Dallas
TE Cole Kmet, Notre Dame
As if Dallas didn’t do enough to boost its passing game with CeeDee Lamb in the first round, it takes the tools guy at tight end. This is the right time for the freakish Notre Dame athlete to go, and it’s the right team for him.
20 (52) LA Rams
RB JK Dobbins, Ohio State
The Rams can mess around with their O line five picks later. With their first pick, they’ll add a do-it-all part of their running back rotation with a back who might just play the lead role.
NEXT: 2020 NFL Mock Draft Second Round Picks 21-32
2020 NFL Mock Draft Second Round Picks 21-32
21 (53) Philadelphia
OT Lucas Niang, TCU
Really? Two picks, two Horned Frogs? Philly got its deep threat receiver in Jalen Reagor on Thursday, but the O line needs the biggest depth boost. Niang can move around and work in several spots.
22 (54) Buffalo
DT JOrdan Elliott, Missouri
The Bills are in a nice spot. They need talent upgrades, but there isn’t one screaming need that has to be met. Elliott boosts up the athleticism in the rotation in the interior.
23 (55) Baltimore (from New England, from Atlanta)
DE Curtis Weaver, Boise State
The interior of the offensive line will be figured out later. For now, the Ravens will keep adding speed and athleticism to their defense, getting a relentless pass rusher in Weaver to go along with the wheels of first round linebacker pick, Patrick Queen.
24 (56) Miami (from New Orleans)
S Kyle Dugger, Lenoir-Rhyne
After going running back with their first second round pick, the Dolphins keep on loading up with tremendous potential for a few years down the road. Antoine Winfield is the better safety prospect, but this draft is about upside, upside, upside – and that’s Dugger.
25 (57) LA Rams (from Houston)
OG John Simpson, clemson
There are plenty of depth issues that need to be addressed, but assuming the Rams go RB with their first second round pick, they need to get a tough guy for the interior of the line.
26 (58) Minnesota
S Grant Delpit, LSU
A good safety will fall right into the Vikings’ lap. Either it’ll be hometown guy Antoine Winfield, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Kyle Dugger, or Delpit will be a terrific value pick sliding down to this spot.
27 (59) Seattle
DE Marlon Davidson, Auburn
Seattle needs a pass rush. There are several ends to choose from, but Davidson is the one who should fit fastest of the options left on teh board.
28 (60) Baltimore
WR Laviska Shenault, Colorado
The only question is whether or not he can stay healthy. He’s a quick, tough, playmaking receiver who’d become Lamar Jackson’s go-to guy right out of the box.
29 (61) Tennessee
DT Raekwon Davis, Alabama
The Titans are going to do this by beefing up their lines. They got one pounder for the offensive side in OT Isaiah Wilson, and now they’ll go after a versatile big man for the defensive front.
30 (62) Green Bay
WR Bryan Edwards, South Carolina
After taking Jordan Love in the first round, the Packers have to do something for Aaron Rodgers and the 2020 season. He gets a big go-to receiver who can make the tough catch.
31 (63) Kansas City (from San Francisco)
CB Cameron Dantzler, Mississippi State
The Chiefs got more toys to play with on the offensive side with LSU’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire going with the Mr. Relevant pick – the last selection in the first round. Now they have to fill a hole in the secondary with the best corner available.
32 (64) Seattle (from Kansas City)
RB AJ Dillon, Boston College
The Seahawks can’t seem to keep running backs healthy. Dillon could be a workhorse to take over as other options heal up, and he can be a pounding part of a rotation.
