2020 NFL Draft: Giants heading for another very high pick

If the NFL season ended today, the New York Giants (2-5) would be selecting sixth overall for the second season in a row.

In an article in NJ.com, Darryl Slater published the NFL power(less) rankings, listing the current NFL Draft order for the 2020 draft.

Here’s where things stand:

1. Bengals (0-7 record, .540 strength of schedule) Last week’s position: 1

2. Dolphins (0-6, .485) Last week’s position: 2

3. Washington (1-6, .549) Last week’s position: 3

4. Falcons (1-6, .608) Last week’s position: 4

5. Jets (1-4, .456) Last week’s position: 5

6. Giants (2-5, .481) Last week’s position: 9

With nine games remaining, it is difficult to find a path for the Giants to better their 2018 output of five wins. This week, they head to Detroit, which is also on a three-game losing streak, but oddsmakers aren’t giving the Giants much of a chance, making them seven-point underdogs.

The rest of the way isn’t easy, either: Dallas at home, the Jets, Chicago, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Miami, Washington and Philadelphia again.

You can make an argument for maybe a six-win season, but that will still place them in the top 10 at the draft next year. Again.
