The NFL Draft is a moment on its own. It’s literally always incredible theater each and every year.
We’re watching young men accomplish the dream that they’ve been working toward for years finally reach the mountaintop. There are always tears of joy, stories of triumph and, pretty much, perfect moments. And, to put a cherry on top, this year it’s in Las Vegas!
There’s not much you can do to make this thing better for television. And someone, for whatever reason, thought “screw it, let’s throw a boat in there.”
That’s right. NFL Draft picks will be transported to the stage by boat. An actual boat. A draft boat.
Yup, this is pretty ridiculous. And, just like every other ridiculous thing to ever exist on the internet, the draft boat came with plenty of jokes.
This might be the most Las Vegas thing ever. Just prepare yourself for all of the dad jokes related to boats we’ll get from the broadcast.
I know. I’m not excited either.
